KENYA MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD 2016 ROUND 2
The Second round of the Kenya Mathematics olympiad 2016 was held on the 5th of March 2016 at the College of Biological and physical sciences , University of Nairobi. The competition was organised by a team of lecturers at the school of mathematics, led by Dr. James Katende. The other lecturers involved were Dr. Jamen Were, Dr. Jared Ongaro and Ms. Carolyn Ogutu. We received a lot of support from Prof. Patrick Weke, the director of the School of Mathematics, and students from the Mathematics Association of Nairobi University.
A total of 126 students from 14 schools participated in the KMO 2016 Round 2. The top 6 students will represent Kenya at the International Mathematical Olympiad to be held in Hong Kong from the 6th to 16th of July 2016. The top 6 students are listed below in order of performance.

The top 3 girls and the top 3 boys will represent Kenya at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad in Senegal from 21st to 30th of April 2016.

Mathematics Association of Kenya (MAK) is a non-govermental, non-profit making academic association fully registered at the office of the registrar. It draws its members from the general public especially in the academic sector.
Mathematics Association of Kenya is currently seeking to be a member of the International Mathematics Union (IMU) and is also a beneficiary of an array of international mathematics organisations such as Africa Mathematics Union, ICTP, ISP amongst other mathematical communities.
The main objective of this association is to effect improvement in mathematics education country wide, to provide means of communication for this purpose, and to take such measures as may appear expedient to advance the views of the Association on any question affecting mathematics education.
